In Once-Other Lawrence M. Nysschens has wound an intriguing mixture of personal struggle and oppression. His ideas are unique, and his style keeps the pages turning: Immigrants from Earth settled a distant desert world. Is this the utopia Earth so longed for? But like the USA these colonists fight a War of Independence against the Mother Planet. Failure is not an option. Slavery would be its price.
Some will die, others will live.
Can Once-Other survive?

They call their world Here-Born and Earth is Earth-Born.
“A novel with powerful spiritual undertones, Once-Other by Lawrence M. Nysschens presents man’s pain in loss, his battles, both spiritual and physical, and his journey to conquering fear and embracing himself. Set in the symbolic regions of the desert — and I couldn’t help reflecting on the deserts of our souls as I read on — the reader is introduced to Once-Other, a man whose life seems to be in disarray because of his ex-wife’s control over their son. Besides his personal struggles, he is engaged in a peculiar war to achieve freedom for his people of Here-Born. The story unveils dread truths about a spiritual journey of the warrior towards self-realization and growth. Once-Other’s battle, his greatest battle, is with himself, the battle to unlock his full potential by conquering his inner demons and fears…” Christian Sia for Readers’ Favorite 5 Stars
Lawrence emigrated legally to the USA in 1989.
Back in High School, his English teacher commented that he should become a writer. After avoiding that for too long, Lawrence has taken up the pen and ‘scribbled’ an epic about today’s world set in a world of tomorrow.
And he invites you to step into this world with him and partake of its beauty, its conflicts, and to discover the power We the Individual Reader has and which we can harness for ourselves.
Discover these revelations as Lawrence reveals and shares them with you. And arm yourself for the world we live in is changing rapidly.
